From the moment we heard The Retreat was built on a quartz mountain (yep, there´s natural quartz in the soil!), we knew this place was special. Now, this is a wellness retreat, the place to come and reset, reflect, unplug, and nurture your connection with nature. Stating the obvious, this property has a great vibe; the food, the pool, the yoga, the setting, they´re all rooting for you to heal whatever you need to heal.

The Retreat has established multiple actions to make a positive impact on its surroundings, including developing an organic permaculture farm, chemical free spa treatments with organic products and an employment policy that requires 90% of employees to be from the local community. The hotel features an organic, farm-to-table restaurant concept, using seasonal produce from its own gardens and local providers.
Biodegradable products are used for laundry and housekeeping, plus organic products are used for fumigation and bug repellents. There´s a composting facility on the property, a recycling program in conjunction with the municipality, a reforestation program on the farm, as well as energy and water saving programs with regular monitoring built in. Additionally, The Retreat offers excursions that benefit the local community, and arranges regular forest and river clean-ups.
