Day 1

Arrival to San José

Overnight: Finca Rosa Blanca

Arrive at San José (SJO) Airport and enjoy the local cuisine of the Central Valley to kick of your Costa Rica eco-trip.

Day 2

Sea Turtle Conservation & Canoes

Overnight: Tortuga Lodge

Start the adventure with a flight to Tortuguero, a remote village in Costa Rica´s northern Caribbean Region that´s an important nesting site for green sea turtles. Learn all about these fascinating reptiles at the local Sea Turtle Conservancy before cruising through the canals of Tortuguero National Park by canoe.

Day 3

Caño Palma Biological Research Station & Cacao Experience

Overnight: Tortuga Lodge

Visit Caño Palma to learn about the conservation projects run by this amazing non-profit science station. Discover the ancient culture and stories behind the native cacao plant. Taste, roast and grind as you learn about all things cacao and produce your own artisanal chocolate.

Day 4

Cloud Forest Conservation

Overnight: Senda Monteverde

Journey on to Nectandra in the Northern Region, where you´ll walk through mystical cloud forest gardens with a local conservationist and enjoy more conversation over lunch. Drive to your cozy mountain lodge in the town of Monteverde.

Day 5

Wildlife by Day & Night

Overnight: Senda Monteverde

Enjoy a private hike in Monteverde´s breathtaking cloud forest reserve, home to the elusive resplendent quetzal, monkeys, and coatis. See how the forest comes alive after dark with a night walk – look out for green vipers and 2-toed sloths!

Day 6

Lapa Rios & Big Cats

Overnight: Lapa Rios

Transfer to San José for a flight to Puerto Jiménez in the remote Osa Peninsula. Drive to Lapa Rios where you can explore the grounds and enjoy the beach before an enlightening meeting with local conservationists to learn about the big cats that prowl the peninsula.

Day 7

Birding, Hiking & Night Walks

Overnight: Lapa Rios

Head out early morning to spot exotic birds on a walk around the grounds before breakfast. Choose your preferred route for a guided hike in the area, from wild waterfalls to rainforest ridges. End the day with a night walk to discover some of the spectacular wildlife that inhabits the Osa Peninsula.

Day 8

Wild Osa Immersion

Overnight: Lapa Rios

Arrive by boat or plane to Corcovado National Park and spend the day connecting to raw nature.  Enjoy your last evening soaking up the stunning natural beauty of the Osa Peninsula at your luxury eco-lodge.

Day 9

Until Next Time

Bid farewell to the wild paradise of the Osa Peninsula with an early morning drive to Puerto Jiménez, where you´ll fly back to San José for your connecting flight home.
