  • Why we love it
  • Highlights
  • Sustainability

Andaz has everything you´ll need in one place, from beautiful guest room vistas overlooking the bay, to a choice of swimming pools and restaurants. This is a great all-rounder for families and couples looking for the Costa Rica luxury resort experience. We love the property´s fresh, contemporary aesthetic and the use of glass to invite the outdoors in.

In a commitment to sustainability, Andaz eliminated all plastic water bottles from the property in 2019, providing reusable glass bottles in guestrooms that can be refilled at purified water stations.

The hotel gives guests an aluminum water bottle when participating in recreational activities, has replaced plastic straws, cutlery, and cups with materials like bamboo and cardboard, and uses jute bags or mesh bags instead of plastic ones. All air conditioning units have been updated with inverter technology (saving up to 50% of energy and power as compared with a regular A/C unit), LED technology has replaced lighting throughout the hotel, and a pressure regulating valve has been installed on the main water pipe to reduce the incidence of leaks.

Environmentally friendly products are used in areas such as cooking, cleaning, the Spa and maintenance of green areas, plus eco-cosmetics and cleaning products are packaged with recycled, reused or easily degradable materials. Dispensers have been provided in public restrooms to reduce waste, and plastic pens have been swapped for pencils in guest rooms. At least 60% of employees are locals or neighbors of the communities near Andaz. Additionally, a resort-wide tree-planting program invites guests and staff to volunteer together while enriching the peninsula.
